Princeton PB 55.3x Forklift picks trailer off ground
Old video from during covid (hence the masks). Showing my brother and little nephew the lifting capabilities of my Princeton Piggyback 55.3x truck-mounted forklift. Forklift weighs 7,810lbs, has a rated lifting capacity of 5,500lbs at full extension. At half extension, I have lifted our Toyota yard forklift to carry it out of mud, which weighs over 9,600lbs. Physics!

Great video 👍 i have a 96 with 448k Miles, I still keep on trucking, bought it brand new in 96. My oldest son is going to be driving next year, thinking about passing the truck to him. They really dont make trucks like they used to. I love the simplicity of my truck, none of the fancy electronics and tv screens. Just a work truck that has served me reliably throughout the years, going to work, hunting, hauling my Small fishing boat, and most importantly never left me stranded. I feel like the big Auto manufacturers doesn't care about the blue caller worker anymore, and won't provide a affordable work truck at a good price. Its all about making the most profit and make a vehicle's that are to complicated that owners can't work on them. Anyway thanks for the great video, glad UA-cam recommended this video. Keep on Trucking.
Drove around a truck with a Moffet N8 MX on the back of it for a while and man the things that machine could do... Only thing I wish it had was hydraulic fork sliders for longer lumber. Always cool to see just how much difference the outriggers made to its lifting capacity too. It's only a couple extra inches to the wheelbase but I'd swear it gives you at least a thousand pounds extra.
Absolutely brilliant video sir I just subscribe to your channel will you please do more exactly like this one only a lot longer and ASMR style because I love the Siri 60 and the 10 speed that sounds absolutely amazing. Stay safe man. Thank you for your hard work. I really appreciate you sharing these videos And I hope all is well with you. Have a blessed day.
Cool video.

i want this truck so bad
I wish I still had her.. I sadly sold her to my cousin when I moved to Europe 2 years ago. He uses it to haul his landscape trailers/tree debris/fire wood. Still going strong at 30 years old and 285xxx. Albeit a bit more beat up..
@@caasiwms I wish we had trucks like this one in Europe. Sure, you can import them, but they tend to be very expensive. A regular, well-kept "beater" truck that you can get cheaply in the US would be ridiculously expensive here. Plus, with the current prices of gasoline, all the gas-guzzling is a concern. Still, I'd love to drive a truck...
@@Havealocalife I know, I have lived in Europe for about 4 years, it was a very difficult thing to not be able to import the truck.. I have seen one or two OBS fords here, but they are really rare, and not practical.. Plus if it breaks down, there are almost no parts
I was curious since the manual 300s are only rated for somewhere in the 3000-4000lb range (less for an f250). How does this actually relate to real world driving? Did you add anything to the drivetrain to handle this load?
When I got the truck, it had a blown out Mazda 5speed (3rd and 4th gear syncros were fried). I rebuilt the trans and threw in a Luk Pro Gold clutch and throwout bearing/slave cylinder. These were the weak links in most of the trucks that led to the low tow ratings. I also added 2 add-a-leaves to the leaf spring packs, and then got premium-grade brakes (and of course a good trailer-brake controller). From a legal standpoint, I could have probably still had an issue if I'd had an at-fault crash while towing, but from a capability standpoint, I never had any issues. I even hauled a tri-axle shingle trailer (about 12,000lbs gtw) about 8 miles at 40mph from a worksite to the dump, and it had no issue moving it.
You're gonna kill the clutch starting out in 1st gear all the time. 1st gear is for a heavy load. Those transmissions are set up to start out in 2nd gear for normal driving.
Not at all... Completely the opposite. If this truck had the ZF transmission with the granny gear, then what you are saying would somewhat apply, and it would be possible to start in 2nd gear with minimal wear (still less wear starting in 1st gear). But this truck has the Mazda 5speed (no granny) and 3.08 gearing, meaning that even starting in 1st gear is pretty tall, and it is downright foolish in terms of clutch wear to start in 2nd.. Even with semis, yes, you can start in a higher (4th-6th) gear depending on load and grade. But it is still ALWAYS easier on the clutch and transmission to start in 1st. The lower the gear, the lower the torsion forces on the transmission, and the lower the rub-time on the clutch. It's just how transmissions work
@@caasiwmsIIRC my 89 300 truck has a 2.75 rear, same trans. I can tell yours moves off in 1st a lot more easily than mine!
I had a ‘95 F150 XL 300cu w/the 5-speed, 3.31 gears. Long bed regular cab. Had AC and cruise control. That’s all I needed. Had the plastic flooring, no carpet. Easy to clean. Sure miss that thing.
Had 4 or 5 of these in everything from a base F-150 with the cast iron 4-speed granny manual to a 1 ton extended Club Wagon van with a C6 auto. Great engine with the most useful powerband ever.
Had a ‘95 short bed, that 300 coupled with a standard… perfection. Such a smooth driving and shifting combination. Wish I never sold it (damn rust)
What was affected by the rust??
Did you put any overload springs or stock rear suspension?
Thanks for the video! I just bought an '89 f150 with a 300I6. Can't wait to do some work and drive mine!
i got a 88 with 4.9 300 and a np435 4 speed granny low 2wd.
Love that sound, miss the trucks of my youth. The 80's and 90's both Ford, gm and dodge Square body pickups were amazing. Interesting though, when I drove school bus, I drove one I likely rode on to school, 91 ward amtran volunteer with the dt 360 inline 6. It obviously was diesel, no glow plugs, smooth, seemed to have a continuous torque power band and constant acceleration all the way up to 65 mph. I've heard that the reason those older smaller engines seemed to have more power and acceleration was due to the nature of an inline motor design vs a v engine style? Both this video and your other one I watched this f150 sounded great and I'd be lucky to get an older f150 up to 96. You take really good care of that ol girl it appears. Lucky guy, great truck.
if was you, how much didnit cost to have the 5speed rebuilt? I have the m5r2 as well n was quoted 2800 and 3k from 1 dif shops..I thought that was outrageous
вы тоже пришли узнать где настоящий мистер бист?)
Damn fine truck. Take care of her and she will take care of you kid. Love your 300 ford.
I'm a mopar man but I must confess, Ford got it right with the 300 six.
What a fine truck. I wish Ford, moreover, American carmakers, would build better vehicles.
The issue with these isn't the engine nor necessarily the transmission...it is the rear axle ratio. Most are 3.08 with the 6-cylinder, which is hard on the clutch trying to get everything moving. That's why Ford places a 3,000 lb tow rating on 6 cylinder trucks of this era and newer. They wanted to get them through the warranty period without a burned-up clutch.
Man has good taste in cars. I have a ZJ and a OBS F150 as well. :)
One of the greatest engines ever built. I raced a 1980 econoline with a 351 with my 78 f100, 300 3 on the tree. We were neck and neck until I started pulling away from him at over 100 miles per hour.
I just bought an econoline and I am never taking that machine above 70mph. Very brave to do that lmao
Grew up with my dad's '93, with the 300. He sold the plow that was on it, and gave the truck away with it. The thing was rotted to hell, but the guy ended up restoring it entirely, and sold it a number of years later. This past week, I bought an old Asplundh woodchipper with a 300 in it, so I get to hear one in person again
diesel?
No
When did a Jeep Cherokee and car trailer ever equal 7k#? You're more like 5500-6k#
Do you think a 2000 F150 with the 5 speed and 4.2 Pushrod V6 could handle something like this? Stock tow rating is only 3500 pounds but the automatic one is nearly 6000lbs.
I've got the same engine in a short bed 95,with only 20k miles on her.
I towed a 73 F100 96 miles, a 96 F350 7.5 crew cab 96 miles, and then a 74 F250 360 760 miles with a 1992 F150 with a 300 and E4OD. The last three miles of the long trip, I broke the rear u joint coming to a stop. I believe it was the original one, on a 270k mile truck. Replaced the u joint and rear transmission seal and she’s up and running. Those 4.9s/300s were made to work.
Still got'r? I bet it would do better with some 3.73's!
I want to stick a built grunty turbo 5.1 stroker in my 04 f350
Always start out in 1st gear when pulling a load.
Every start was in first gear..
@@caasiwms ok sorry. It sounded like it was laboring alot
Nope, that’s just the downside of having 3.08 gearing. Highway cruising is awesome for fuel efficiency, but heavy towing can make for tough starts from a dead stop. Engine doesn’t have too much trouble though
I cant get a cummings so im buying one of these much torque
Does it struggle pulling it
Pretty rainy out eh
Same firing order as Cummins(and probably ever other inline 6 on earth) so they will sound similar.(minus the rattle, we hope)
Years later and yet again I'm watching this video, my 89 is parked with a bad slave cylinder and I ain't gonna fix it. Miss driving my 300 six. I can't see good enough or have the patience to repair it and the shop I talked to about it just ghosted me to the next customer so goodbye to the ferd.

Ive had a ton of these 300 trucks. Just picked up a 93 that someone must have got sick of the mazda because it has a T18 4speed in it lol
I had one (1996), F-150 XL with 300 I6 and 5 spd, roll down windows and radio/no a/c. Awesome torque and I got decent mileage (23-25 mpg Hwy). One of the best trucks I’ve owned. Sad to let it go.
Obviously not too sad since you let it go. I've kept my vehicles all my life.
I'm looking to buy a 92-96 300. Seems like the answer is yes, but would you say it can tow a 3300 lbs mustang on a low profile trailer without issue? Not sure if I will be able to find a 3.08 or 3.55 gear.
You shouldn't have any issue, no matter what gearing you have. This is the 300 I6 with the 3.08, which is typically the worst gearing for towing, and it's pulling over double the weight you are talking.
Inline 6's all have the same firing order, so it all comes down to the headers. Cummins have a candlestick style to where the exit is between cylinder 3 and 4. The 6.7 or 3rd Gen, the exit is between 2 and 3. If you run a split manifold, it is going to be super raspy.
Man this video is soo calming listening to the engine/shifting and road noise.. Theres a clean Blue 95 f150 with the 300 on craigslist with 185k miles for $2500 im really interested in. I emailed the guy and im hoping he hasn't sold it. Says it runs good and no major issues with it so we'll see if he gets back to me.. fingers crossed
well??
Did you buy it? I’m stuck between buying a 93’ i6 or going with a 97 7.3 diesel. Having a hard time deciding..
@@Fit.For.A.Firefight. both are legendary engines, will have similar power and mpg. The diesel will garner higher costs but last longer, sorta... Choose whichever is in good condition and be done with it.
Awesome sounding 300 inline 6 cylinder in this 9th gen ford truck
I have a buick rainer i6 she's extremely reliable truck just can't say the same for the body most of the time typical GM. but, I am saving up for a f250 1987-1991 bricknose.
I have a 92 short bed 4x4 & was thinking of using it to tow one of those 20 foot micro lite travel trailers and was a little worried but this makes me feel better. Was actually thinking of buying a newer truck out of fear.
Every time I feel disheartened about towing my 28 foot travel trailer I watch these videos and feel beyond relieved. Supporting parts to be put on. Thanks for posting!
When you can have it gone through, new seals, plugs, etc. Basically rebuild it and maybe have it tuned and they can keep up with newer engines.
This had to be the base, starting point for Cummins when they were tasked with building a pickup truck engine!
